Charter and Parochial Schools

A significant grantmaking area for The Foundation is supporting the efforts of existing high-performing charter management organizations and faith-based schools to expand through the addition of grade levels, the creation of new schools and by establishing a presence in new regions. We look for measureable, positive results, strong management organizations and a growth plan based on significant prior experience. The Foundation also supports the creation of new, stand-alone charter schools or faith-based schools in communities with a demonstrated need for higher quality public education and improved student outcomes. The schools we help establish have a strong vision of their goals, their academic model for preparing students for graduation, the expectations they have of student behavior and the school culture they will strive to create.

The Foundation believes that every child deserves access to a content-rich liberal arts education and that curriculum development is an essential aspect of education reform.
